SALON RENOVATION
CRAFTING THE VISION BEFORE BUILDING IT
Project Overview:
Endeavor North Design worked closely with the owner of Glance Salon to reimagine and expand the salon’s second-floor space, creating an environment that reflects the character of the business while improving how the space functions day to day. The approximately 1,600-square-foot renovation also involved removing an existing stair to gain valuable floor area and create a more useful overall plan.
From the beginning, the project was highly collaborative, with design decisions developed around both the owner’s vision and the realities of an active salon environment.
Designing Through Visualization:
A key part of the process was the extensive use of 3D visualization throughout design. Rather than relying solely on plans and material samples, the owner was able to see the space take shape before construction—testing layouts, finishes, lighting, furnishings, and key architectural elements in a realistic context.
That iterative process allowed the design team and owner to make decisions together, refine details early, and build confidence that the final space would capture the intended look and feel.
A Space Tailored to Glance:
The renovation was designed to feel polished and intentional without losing the energy and personality of the salon. Every element—from circulation and workstation planning to materials, lighting, and focal features—was considered as part of a cohesive environment tailored specifically to Glance.
At the same time, the design needed to maximize a relatively compact footprint, balancing the visual experience with efficient salon operations and the needs of both clients and staff.
Designing Within an Active Business:
Because the existing salon remained operational through much of the work, the design also considered how the renovation could be phased and constructed while maintaining safe access and continued business operations.
Project Impact:
The Glance Salon renovation demonstrates the value of a highly visual, collaborative design process. By allowing the owner to experience and refine the project in three dimensions before it was built, the team was able to turn an initial vision into a carefully crafted space that feels distinctly Glance.
