REIMAGINING WHAT’S ALREADY THERE
Project Overview:
Endeavor North Design is working with Midtown Dental to transform a former Schlotzsky’s restaurant into a modern dental clinic tailored to the practice’s growing needs. Rather than starting over, the project is centered on making smart use of the existing building, retaining what works, reworking what doesn’t, and creating an entirely new identity for the space.
Midtown Dental emphasizes a warm, welcoming patient environment along with modern technology and comprehensive dental care, priorities that helped shape the renovation approach.

A key driver of the design is finding the right balance between reuse and transformation. Existing structure, openings, and building elements are incorporated where they make sense, while targeted exterior and interior modifications change the perception of the former restaurant and establish a contemporary, professional identity for Midtown Dental.

The result is intended to feel purpose-built for dental care, not like a restaurant converted into a clinic.

The single-level clinic includes 11 treatment chairs arranged in a mix of open operatories and private treatment rooms, providing flexibility for different procedures and patient preferences. Support spaces, circulation, and staff functions are organized to create an efficient workflow while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming patient experience.
Project Impact:
By adapting an existing commercial building rather than replacing it, the project gives an underutilized property a new life while creating a long-term home for Midtown Dental. The renovation demonstrates how thoughtful design can completely reposition an existing building while making responsible use of what is already there.
